Nick Swisher took a crucial part behind the success of Yankees which they have got in this season. Swisher has played wonderfully in this season with 24 runs at home and he has also scored 77 walks and 36 doubles.
Another thing which is necessary to say about his performance is that he has delivered at the right time for his team. Six home runs of the last 12 runs he has scored at home have given his team a lead. He has played in six positions and still his batting average is on the higher side .301.
However Swisher in the MLB Baseball means something more. He creates a wonderful ambience in the ground. The emotion of the crowd and the noise for cheer are brought into clubhouse by his wonderful personality. Swisher was always with a smiling face and he did not face any bad day in this season.
His performance for Yankees in the four seasons is quite brilliant. He has played in 150 matches in an average per year. He has scored 26 home runs. He has got OPS of .850 in these four seasons. He is now 31 but still he is continuing to play well for Yankees.
Well, there was a bad patch for him in the last season. At that time he was having an average of .167 and in the American League Championship Series he was playing very badly. Joe Girardi, the manager of Yankees did not allow him to play for Yankees in the three consecutive matches.
His average was .211 in the five matches in the year 2011, and before that his batting average was .176 in some of the matches. Well, his form in the last season had ups and downs but as a whole he played quite a crucial part for his team.
Now all these number factors create a bit of problem for the couch about taking the player in the next season. However, one thing has to be considered that Swisher has performed quite well as a whole and mainly his performance was poor in the month of October.
Jose Valverde, Angel Pagan and Edwin Jackson have also gone through a bad time in the month of October in the last season. At the age of 33 Adam LaRoche is playing wonderfully with a score of 33 home runs. He is now one of the most respected players in MLB Baseball.

After a quiet successful league in the NBA Basketball last season the Dallas Mavericks wanted to strengthen the team with Deron Williams. Williams has been a great achiever over the recent few season and has come into demand in the elite organizations in the NBA. The owner of Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban was very keen on signing the star performer and was ready to spend a huge amount of money that had a budget of nearly $17.1 million.
The mavericks failed to sign the three times all star and Mark Cuban said, “The team is better suited without Williams than it would have been if they would have signed him, now he can concentrate more on winning”. There were raised eyebrows pertaining to the fact that Cuban was absent in the negotiations with Williams and was more busy in shooting for his television show in Los Angeles. Cuban was later caught saying “I could put an end to talks so it was better that he was not present at the scenario”.
Deron Williams finally agreed to stay with his former organization with a renewed contract of $98 million for a time period of five years. This was close to $25 million more than what the Mavericks or any other association was offering him. Mark Cuban was not very upset about the fact that Deron Williams was not signed. He also said that “Williams is a very good player”.
Cuban had his budget planned out and he also said that other than this big budget signings he also had a small $3.3 million budget for the mid season transfer window. The three new major signings for the Dallas Mavericks were O.J. Mayo, Elton Brand and Chris Kaman. All these players have been signed for the 2012-2013 season only.
What came as a major shock for the Maverick’s owner was the fact that Jason Kidd was no longer staying back with the organization. Jason Kidd who was to sign a returning contract with the Mavericks turned down the offer and went on to sign on with the New York Knicks for the same value that the Mavericks had offered him.
Mark Cuban felt that Kidd was a big boy and was sensible enough to take his decisions. But he was utterly shattered at the fact that Kidd was fickle minded. Kidd turned down the contract only at the last moment leading to a rift between the owner of Mavericks and Kidd. Jason Kidd signed for a $9 million contract. Cuban knows that he would have to get over the thought at some point of time, but currently he is pissed off with the thought process of Jason Kidd.
